Arsenal are edging closer to signing Chelsea winger Willian on a free transfer, according to ESPN Brasil presenter Bruno Vicari.
Claiming to have insider information regarding the 31-year-old’s future, Vicari says that Gunners officials are now “very optimistic” that the winger will move to the Emirates:

Willian’s contract expires at the end of the season, but he is also still in talks about extending his stay at Chelsea.
The main bone of contention, though, is the length of his new contract. The Blues are only prepared to offer him a two-year extension, while the Brazilian international is holding out for three.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal would be prepared to meet Willian’s demands. His agent Kia Joorabchian does have close connections with the Gunners’ hierarchy but he would be close to 35 by the end of his time with the London club if they do hand him the contract he is seeking.
