Man Utd and England legend Wayne Rooney has confidently predicted that Arsenal “will win” the Premier League title.

The Gunners’ victory against Fulham on Saturday night has increased the gap between them and City to six points, and while that could close to three if their title rivals beat Everton, Rooney thinks it won’t matter. He believes Mikel Arteta‘s side will win all three of their remaining matches and finish top of the table:

“I think Arsenal will win it. I felt this after Man City beat Arsenal as well. I felt it was maybe in Arsenal’s heads having to go to Man City and losing in the cup final to them.”

“But I think still being there, level on points after that City defeat, and I think the fixtures are more favourable for Arsenal. I think they’ll win every game. And I could see City slipping up in one or two games.

“I could see Arsenal actually being quite comfortable, I think maybe three, five points.”

Who will Arsenal face in their remaining fixtures?

The Gunners take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday. With the Hammers fighting for Premier League survival, it will be a fiercely contested affair.

Arteta’s men then host already relegated Burnley at the Emirates before travelling to Crystal Palace on the final day. The Eagles will not have much to play for either, and they may even rest players if they have secured a place in the Conference League final.

How many points would Arsenal finish on if they secure 3 wins?

If Rooney’s prediction proves to be accurate, the final points total would be 85. Of course, that is the exact same number that City could get (if they do win against Everton and their other four remaining fixtures).

In that eventuality, the title winner would be decided by goal difference, but Rooney believes that City (not Arsenal) will end up dropping points regardless.
