‘If This Was Havertz, He’d Be Getting Crucified’ ‘He Will Come Good’ Fans Discuss Arsenal Star’s Concerning Form

Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres has not scored in his last six appearances for the Gunners, prompting debate about his impact since his £63.4m move from Sporting Lisbon in the summer.

The Swedish international has only found the back of the net in 2 matches in total, with his brace versus Leeds and his tap-in against Nottingham Forest his only goals so far.

A clip showing all of Gyokeres’s chances has been doing the rounds on social media, and fans on X are split on whether the 27-year-old will end up being a success at the Emirates:

Gyokeres has to prove the doubters wrong

The forward does need to start putting some of his chances away if he is going to silence the critics. He did make some excellent runs against West Ham and got himself into good positions.

There were two separate occasions where Gyokeres was just a toe away from converting crosses across the six-yard box. If he can get sharper in those areas, it would certainly help his goal return.

Lineker believes the Arsenal star will be a success

Legendary striker Gary Lineker says he has seen enough of Gyokeres during the opening 10 matches to be convinced that he can be a valuable asset to Mikel Arteta’s side:

“I think that even though he’s not banged loads of goals in yet, but he’s got his fair share, Gyokeres, I think he gives them something different.”

“He gives them a threat behind, which creates more space for the midfield and even the wide players, and he’s aggressive with his running and he likes to spin and he attacks the space in the box.

“The goals will come for him because with the service that I think he’ll inevitably get, particularly now Saka is back in the mix and looks like his old self after his injury.”

We shall see whether Lineker is proven correct with his assessment over the coming weeks and months.
