Real Madrid injury news

Madrid could be without up to five players for the game against Arsenal on Tuesday after star attackers Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr have been cleared after they were previous doubts.

Former Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has also been cleared, meaning that the Gunners could find themselves lining up against a familiar face.

Defender Dani Carvajal will miss the game after he suffered an ACL injury in December, prompting Real Madrid to up their pursuit of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold. Eder Militao is also out with an ACL injury, which has ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

Left-back Ferland Mendy is a doubt for the game on Tuesday with a hamstring injury, it is more unlikely that he will play, and the Gunners are expecting to see Fran Garcia lining up at left-back against Bukayo Saka.

Goalkeeper Thibault Courtois is a doubt for the game too as he is recovering from a minor knee injury, meaning that Carlo Ancelotti may have to play backup Andriy Lunin – but he is also a doubt with a muscle issue.

If neither keeper can play, then Madrid will have 19-year-old Fran Gonzales in goal, who has never made an appearance for Madrid’s first team. Only the second team and U19s.
