Goalkeeper and Defence

GK – David Raya – 5/10 – a mistake from the Spaniard led to a chance for Newcastle early in the first half. He could arguably have done more to palm away the ball before Anthony Gordon’s goal too.

RB – Jurrien Timber – 4/10 – missed a gilt-edged chance from a corner before losing Gordon for Newcastle’s second, with the defender flat-footed as the Magpies winger put in the rebound.

CB – William Saliba – 5/10 – his failure to win the ball ahead of Dan Burn contributed to Arsenal conceding the first goal. He also headed an easy opportunity over from a corner.

CB – Gabriel – 5/10 – probably could have closed down Alexander Isak earlier before his shot that led to Gordon’s goal. Also had one too many potshots at the other end.

LB – Myles Lewis-Skelly – 7/10 – the best player in the back four which is some going for an 18-year-old.
