Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – David Raya – 6/10 – made a good stop from Ian Maatsen in the first half but couldn’t do much about either goal.
RB – Thomas Partey – 3/10 – a wretched performance from the Ghanaian. Almost gave away a goal with a poor throw-in, stood off Lucas Digne who crossed for Tielemans to score Villa’s first and then inexplicably stepped out to play offside and left Watkins unmarked to tuck away the equaliser.
CB – Jurrien Timber – 5/10 – got pulled out of position for Villa’s first goal. The gap he left led to Tielemans making his run from deep.
CB – Gabriel – 7/10 – the Brazilian international was very solid when he went one-on-one with Watkins.
LB – Myles Lewis-Skelly – 6/10 – His good performance was blighted by his poor clearance that led to Tielemans hitting the post at 2-1.
