The recent performances of Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard have started to concern supporters.
Despite the need for senior players to step up in Bukayo Saka’s absence, the Norwegian struggled once again versus Brentford on Wednesday evening, giving the ball away in the build-up to the home side’s opening goal.
Fans on X have been discussing Odegaard’s form, with many hoping that he can turn a corner in the not-too-distant future:

Unpopular opinion, but Odegaard might be the problem to this side.

Odegaard’s goal contributions this season
It’s fair to say that the 26-year-old is going through a bad patch at the moment. He hasn’t scored or provided an assist in the Premier League since the 5-2 win over West Ham at the end of November.
Odegaard did get two assists against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup last month but that only takes his goal involvements in all competitions to just 6 (1 goal and 5 assists).
The Arsenal star has not been quite the same since his injury
While the midfielder did get back into the groove pretty quickly after spending two months on the sidelines with an ankle problem, he hasn’t really kicked on from there.
If the Gunners are really going to put firm pressure on league leaders Liverpool, they need their talisman at his very best. Supporters will be hoping that he puts in an improved display against Brighton this weekend.
