Bacary Sagna Predicts The Result As Arsenal Take On Liverpool – He Even Names Who Will Score The Winning Goal

Ex-Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna is expecting his former club to beat Liverpool at Anfield this weekend.

Speaking to Paddy Power, Sagna said it would be a tight game but he believes that Mikel Arteta’s side will come out on top:

“I think Arsenal will beat Liverpool 1-0 and Gabriel Jesus will score. He’s used to playing in the north and it’ll be like going back home for him!”

After bagging the opener against Brighton last weekend, Jesus will be hoping to score in consecutive games when the Gunners line up at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Arsenal will be looking to make up for what happened last season

Arteta’s men let a two-goal lead slip in the same fixture back in April. The away side made a lightning-quick start with goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Jesus. However, they were pegged back, with Mo Salah getting on the scoresheet just before half-time, and Roberto Firmino completed the comeback with 3 minutes left on the clock.

Many feel that dropping 2 points at Anfield was the turning point in the title race as Arsenal went on to draw against West Ham and Southampton before losing to City at the Etihad. Therefore, the players will be doubly determined to secure a win this weekend.

Liverpool’s record at home has been impressive

In 12 matches in all competitions this campaign, the Reds have won 11 and drawn just once. However, that draw came last time out against Manchester United, as they struggled to put away an understrength opponent.

For that reason, there is definitely hope that Arsenal can get one over Jurgen Klopp’s side. They weren’t that impressive last weekend, and the Gunners will be hoping to take advantage of any weaknesses.

If they can secure the three points, it would be a huge boost for Arteta’s team at a crucial stage of the season.
