Arsenal have agreed a deal with La Liga side Valencia to sign centre-back Cristhian Mosquera for a total fee of £16.5m including add-ons. 

The Gunners were keen to bring in reinforcements in defence as they wanted to provide more backup options to Gabriel and William Saliba, who will start at centre-back. Gabriel suffered a hamstring injury which kept him out for around 2 months towards the back end of the season, Mosquera will now be around to provide cover.

Mosquera was always reportedly keen on joining Arsenal, ever since the Gunners first declared their interest in him, and they now have a 21-year-old defender, who has all the potential to become a top defender in the Premier League.
