2) Take advantage of set pieces

It’s not rocket science. Arteta’s men are a tall team and set-piece coach Nicolas Jover is a master at getting the most from corners and indirect free-kicks.

In contrast, Liverpool struggled against Newcastle at set-plays, and it is a weakness that the Gunners should be able to exploit easily.

They will get chances on Sunday, and it will be down to players like Gabriel and Jurrien Timber to take them.

3) Focus attacks down the left

The Reds are having all sorts of problems down their right-hand side at the moment. New signing Jeremie Frimpong is already injured while Conor Bradley is not 100% fit.

On top of that, Ibrahima Konate has started the campaign in wretched form, with many believing that doubts over his future at the club have affected his performances.

If Eberechi Eze starts on the left, he could have a field down down that side, and there is a chance for him to get off to a dream start in an Arsenal shirt.

4) Be ruthless on the transition

Liverpool have already conceded as many counter-attack goals (2) as they did in the whole of last season. The main reason for that is the fullbacks.

Milos Kerkez likes to get forward, and it’s the same for Bradley/Frimpong on the opposite flank. Without a traditional holding midfielder, they can be exposed in transition.

Arteta’s team WILL get scoring opportunities on the counter-attack this weekend. It will be up to the players to take these chances when they get them.
