Arsenal’s New Head Of Football Keen On Move For £44m Rated Argentinian International

Arsenal’s new Head of Football Operations Raul Sanllehi is keen on the club signing Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon, according to reports in the English media.

Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis’s departure to AC Milan has led to a restructuring of the management team at the Gunners.

Sanllehi’s new role means he will be able to guide the club’s transfer business and the Spaniard is said to have already held talks with Boca about Pavon.

The Argentinian international played four games at this summer’s World Cup and reportedly has a €50m (£44m) release clause in his contract.

One potential issue is that Pavon isn’t a player that is on the radar of Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat. The German has been the key architect of the club’s summer transfer business, and it will be interesting to see how Sanllehi’s new role will affect things.

If the Spaniard does now have the final say, a move for Pavon could well be on the cards.
