Arsenal Named As One Of Two PL Clubs ‘Best Placed” To Sign £22.6m Rated La Liga Defender

Arsenal and Chelsea are the two teams “best placed” to sign Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon, according to AS.

The Madrid-based publication claims the London rivals are the favourites to land the Spaniard, who is expected to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

Reguilon spent the campaign out on loan at Sevilla, where he excelled under the guidance of manager Julen Lopetegui, but he is not in Zinedine Zidane’s plans at Real, with Ferland Mendy and Marcelo both ahead of him in the pecking order.

With that being the case, AS report that Reguilon will be allowed to leave if a club matches Real’s €25m (£22.6m) valuation. The Spaniard is a client of Kia Joorabchian and that is more than likely the reason why his name continues to be linked with a move to the Emirates.

Chelsea is still seen as the likeliest destination, though, as they are actively seeking a left-back and will have Champions League football next season.
