Arsenal Named As One Of Ten Clubs Pursuing 18 Goal Ligue One Star Who Could Be Sold For £39m

Arsenal are one of the teams interested in signing Monaco forward Wissam Ben Yedder, according to L’Equipe (via AS).

The French newspaper claims that nine other clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool, are monitoring the 29-year-old’s situation.

Ben Yedder has been in fine form this season, having scored 18 goals in just 26 Ligue One appearances, but he only moved to France from Sevilla for €40m (£35m) last summer.

However, in the current financial climate, Monaco are said to be willing to sell the Frenchman for around €45m (£40m).

The Gunners may well be in the market for a new centre-forward this summer if captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaves the Emirates.

The 30-year-old is closing in on the final twelve months of his contract at Arsenal, and there have been no signs that he is close to signing an extension.

Ben Yedder’s signing could well be funded from the proceeds of Aubameyang’s sale but supporters will certainly be hoping that the club’s talisman signs a new deal.
