Arsenal Named As One Of 4 Clubs Keen To Sign Brazilian Playmaker On Pre Contract Agreement

Arsenal are one of four teams interested in signing Porto attacking midfielder Otavio on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Brazilian’s current deal at the Estadio do Dragao expires in the summer and he is able to talk to foreign clubs about signing a pre-contract agreement.

In addition to the Gunners, Calciomercato report that AC Milan, Roma and Atalanta are all interested in Otavio, who has spent the last six seasons in Portugal.

The 25-year-old has scored 17 goals and provided 45 assists in 166 appearances since moving to Porto and the fact that Arsenal are keen on signing a playmaker means the move to snap him up for free makes a lot of sense.

Considering Otavio is Brazilian too, the connection to Edu would suggest there is more than a grain of truth to this rumour. The technical director will undoubtedly know the player’s agent.
