Arsenal Move To 1st Place

Arsenal seem to be going down the right path. Consistency is something they missed during the past seasons probably due to the lack of experience most players had to compensate for. This year the story looks different as Ramsey, Koscielny and Walcott learned how to deal with pressure and how to contain themselves when a win is all you need. Bringing in Ozil had a massive contribution to the stability of the team. Cech is also key in what could be Arsenal’s season. They are on top of the Premier League and are waiting for Chelsea to help them stay 1st through the week. Even though it`s not the most legit way to claim first place, it is always going to be like this in the UK. Without a bit of luck, claiming the title is very difficult.

The biggest fear regarding Arsenal’s current season is not that they will fail to defeat their direct adversaries but that they will fail to keep players away from injury. It`s been a pleasure to watch Ramsey as a box-to-box midfielder and it is always a pleasure to see Walcott have a run at the opponent’s defenders who will always be a gear down from what the England international has to offer. It would have been even more amazing to see Wilshere, Coquelin and Sanchez on the pitch as well. Unfortunately, that will not be possible until spring when all three should be able to finally play together.

Let’s focus on the positives though. Giroud is on fire, and even if he did score from the penalty spot against Villa, he still also created a bunch of chances and got his 14th goal so far. If he keeps it up, he might finally get to the 30 goal mark. Ozil is also on fire. With the assist provided for Arsenal’s 2nd goal scored by Ramsey, the German made 13 assists this year and is looking to strip Thierry Henry of his title as the most efficient passer in one season with 20 assists. Fingers crossed for both Giroud and Ozil who could help Arsenal get the title and at the same time set some new benchmarks in terms of efficiency.
