Arsenal Miss Out On Option For Striker Position

Michu has been on Wenger’s transfer wish-list ever since last summer. The Spanish international who spent most of this season on the bench because of injuries does not seem interested in joining Arsenal. According to the Daily Express Swansea City are not keen on letting the 28 year old leave. Even though Swansea management insisted their player is not for sale, rumors have it Liverpool and Arsenal are already starting negotiations.

The Spaniard is definitely lacking pace which is something Wenger wants. He needs tough competition for Giroud who held all the pressure of scoring goals on his shoulders for an entire season. Arsenal need someone younger and more determined.

Swansea officials suggested that they might sit down to talk but that now is not the time as the striker is still proving his fitness. They are probably still uncertain of how the 28 year old will perform during the next months. With the transfer period around the corner, Arsenal will want to bid for as many strikers as possible in order to avoid finding themselves in the same situation as last year especially with Liverpool in the picture who can now offer new players the bonus of Champions League football as well as playing the attractive brand of play that Brendan Rogers prefers.
