Arsenal have expressed their interest in 20 year old midfielder Mateo Kovacic. Unfortunately the youngster turned down the Gunners by saying he will continue with Inter. There was a lot of talk regarding the Croatian who seemed to have a fallout with Inter’s current managerial team. Even so, his agent insisted he will not leave Milano. According to talkSPORT, Wenger is not the only one who spotted Kovacic’s potential. Liverpool, United and Dortmund also looked into one of Europe’s most promising players.

Despite making 44 Serie A appearances since 2013, the Croatian international failed to score any goals. His form has dropped towards the end of the season which got people thinking. Even though he is currently under contract with Inter and still has three more years left to honor, he might have a chance to leave if Arsenal pay a £12 million fee.

The Gunners might want to think twice though before spending money on young talent such as the 20 year old. Regardless of how useful he might be, Wenger should know better than to try to improve on an already stellar midfield line-up. Ramsey, Wilshere and Ozil are three of the best players in the world. If all goes well, there is no transfer big enough to take any of their places on the pitch. With that in mind, signing a striker and a defender would be much more useful than signing yet another midfielder.
