There have been many rumors which linked Sami Khedira to Arsenal. A move to Emirates looked very likely considering the fact that the German is unhappy with his situation at his current club. The fact that three of his fellow compatriots are under contract with Arsenal was also a very important factor in Khedira’s possible decision. Things could change though as Bayern have entered the race for the German midfielder who could be keen on returning to Germany.

Arsenal have yet to publicly express their desire to bring in the World Cup champion but have been heavily linked to a move since before the international competition which took place in Brazil. Apparently Wenger tried to convince Khedira to fill the team’s anchor position by instructing Ozil to explain to his compatriot how great life at the Emirates Stadium is. After a very successful transfer campaign, Khedira looks like he is the only one left to make this period a perfect summer for the Gunners.

If rumors regarding Arsenal’s interest for Khedira are true, it is going to be tough to bring in the 27 year old who according to talkSPORT, is now on Bayern Munich’s radar. After failing to reach an agreement with Kroos who left for Real Madrid, the former Champions League winners are keen on replacing him as soon as possible not that Khedira would be a like-for-like replacement. A return home might seem a lot more tempting for Khedira who made his senior debut back in 2006 for Stuttgart.
