Arsenal Midfielder Will ‘Ask To Be Sold Again In January’ With Serie A Side Waiting In The Wings

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira “will ask to be sold again in January” after finding game time during his loan spell at Atletico Madrid hard to come by, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian newspaper claims the 24-year-old is concerned that he may lose his place in Uruguay’s national team and may ask to be recalled from his spell in Spain so he can find another team who will play him more regularly.

At Atletico, Torreira has started just two of his seven appearances so far and if the situation doesn’t change by January, Tuttosport claim Torino may take advantage of the situation.

The Serie A side are managed by the Uruguayan’s former Sampdoria boss Marco Giampaolo and El Toro’s technical director Davide Vagnati will reportedly contact the midfielder’s representative to see if the player would be interested in a return to Italy.

Of course, a lot would have to happen in order for a move to Torino to take place. Atletico would need to approve ending Torreira’s time in Spain early, while Arsenal would also need to agree a transfer fee with Torino for the player.
