Arsenal Midfielder Responds To Claims That He Could Make Italy Switch

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has dismissed speculation that he could make a move to Inter Milan this summer.

The Italian club have been linked with a bid for the Swiss international, but when asked whether he had talked with the Serie A side, the 26-year-old replied:

“It is something the newspapers have written about, but there is no truth. I have never had contact with Inter.”

Xhaka was a regular in Unai Emery’s side last season, making 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing five assists.

Despite having played 134 games since his arrival from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016, the Swiss star has not managed to win over everyone with his performances.

Xhaka’s inconsistency and indiscipline have led many to question the £30m that Arsenal paid for him.

With the Gunners seemingly needing to sell before they buy in the transfer market, the midfielder may be seen as a good candidate to offload in order to free up some funds, but the midfielder’s comments seem to have put paid to that suggestion.
