Torino will consider making a move for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Uruguayan international’s former coach at Sampdoria, Marco Giampaolo, is expected to take over at Il Toro and succeed current manager Moreno Longo this summer.
As part of his demands, Giampaolo has given Torino a list of four names that he wants signed during the close season.
Torreira, along with Karol Linetty, Joachim Andersen and Filip Marchwinski have been named as the Serie A side’s main transfer targets.
Whether they’ll be able to afford the Uruguayan, it is up for debate. The Gunners could well be open to selling the midfielder considering he has not featured prominently under head coach Mikel Arteta since the restart.
The Arsenal boss has preferred Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka in midfield and, with funds needed to finance other transfer activity, the London club could well look at offloading Torreira.
