Arsenal May Have Finally Found Their Striker

Arsene Wenger may finally get his star striker. Even with Giroud’s excellent performances, the Gunners still need someone better or at least close to the Frenchman’s level in order to motivate him and make him fight for his spot in the teams’ starting eleven. After missing out on Higuain and Villa, Arsenal may have finally found a world-class solution. Karim Benzema could leave Spain as more rumors seem to point to the fact that Real are no longer keen on keeping him.

Even if Wenger tried to make a move during the summer transfer period, Benzema was not willing to give the Premier League a try. Hopefully the Frenchman changed his mind after seeing how good Ozil has it since singing with the Gunners. According to Metro, the fact that his former teammate transferred to the Emirates could tip the balance in Arsenal’s favor.

Wenger could sure use some extra fire power. The Gunners are now in first place in the Premier League standings but had trouble when facing Chelsea and Manchester. A player of Benzema’s type will surely take Arsenal’s playing style up a notch just as Ozil did. The transfer fee will probably not be an issue as the Emirates team look determined to invest in top class players.

Benzema who is going to turn 26 this December, is valued at 30 million pounds which may sound as a lot of money but is in fact a pretty acceptable amount considering he managed to score 61 times in 136 matches for Real Madrid. If this transfer falls through, Arsenal have another established target in mind. Juventus’ Fernando Llorente could be an interesting pick as the Spaniard has so far failed to accommodate to the rigors of Italian football. However, the Gunners may only try getting him on loan considering he just moved to Torino. He might be keen to try out the Premier League for a few months, especially if you think about his current situation with Juventus who do not consider him a first choice as far as attacking options go.
