Great news to come Arsenal’s way after Real seem keen on letting Casillas and Diego Lopez leave during this summer’s transfer window. According to talkSPORT, both keepers have been placed on Real’s transfer list who are looking to bring in a new goalkeeper. It is the second time Casillas has been linked to Arsenal. During last summer, the Spaniard who was not comfortable as being Lopez’s number two, seemed set on leaving Real to join Arsenal who were among the many who were interested in his services. Unfortunately for the Gunners, Real Madrid rethought their strategy and kept their former captain.

The Gunners who are 100% sure a goalkeeper will be coming to the Emirates, might as well sign someone with Casillas’s skills. He is probably one if not the best goalkeepers out there. He has been performing at the highest standards even since he was 18 and has maintained his supremacy up until last year.

The Spaniard who just turned 33, still has a lot to prove. Keepers tend to have an extended career which means he still has a good 4-5 years ahead of him in terms of performing at a high level. Arsenal will have to be convincing though, as Casillas will not come to Emirates to continue being a substitute. The Spanish international will be looking to play each game and take Szczesny’s place. The Polish international has had a great season and continues to grow each year which will force Wenger to make a really tough decision.
