Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta made the ‘technical decision’ to leave Cedric Soares out of the club’s travelling squad to the United States, GoonerNews.com can reveal.

The Portuguese defender is behind Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White and Jurrien Timber in the right back pecking order at Emirates Stadium ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Arteta values Cedric’s experience and leadership qualities but it is understood that he has been told he won’t be in the Spaniard’s plans for the upcoming season.

Cedric’s representatives will now work on securing his Arsenal exit which is expected before the transfer window closes on Friday, September 1.
