Arsenal Make Their Move For Bellerin Replacement But Player Reportedly Delivers ‘Blunt’ Four Word Response

Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest has snubbed a potential switch to Arsenal, according to Sport. The Gunners have targeted the defender as a potential replacement for Hector Bellerin.

The Catalan publication claims Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco have all made approaches for the American international in “recent days” but they were all given the same “blunt” response.

Dest is said to have replied by saying “Thank you, but no” as he is determined to stay at the Camp Nou and prove himself, despite Barca being willing to sell him this summer.

The 20-year-old only made the switch to Spain last year, but Barcelona’s financial difficulties mean they are open to offers, with the club already having two other right-backs in Sergi Roberto and Emerson Royal.

It is believed that Dest could well be used as backup for Jordi Alba at left-back instead, but whether the player will be happy with that arrangement, we shall have to wait and see. As things stand, though, he won’t be moving to the Emirates.
