Arsenal Make Surprising Decision On Eddie Nketiah’s Future

Arsenal have offered Eddie Nketiah a new contract, according to reports in the English media. The 22-year-old has one year remaining on his current deal and it was expected that he would be sold this summer.

However, the Gunners want to protect the value of their asset and they have tabled an extension to keep the striker at the Emirates. The intention could well be to send him out on loan, like Joe Willock, to increase his value so they can sell him permanently next year.

Even so, Nketiah is not thought to be keen on extending his contract if he knows he won’t be in manager Mikel Arteta‘s first-team plans for next season, so a sale is still the likeliest outcome currently.

There are reportedly a number of Premier League teams interested in the former England Under 21 international so there are expected to be developments on his future in the coming weeks.
