Arsenal Make It Through The Fourth Round Of The FA Cup

Wenger’s side managed a 2-0 win against Hull after dominating the entire game and missing out on a considerable number of chances. Hull were nowhere near the performance they managed during their last match against Arsenal when they faced the North Londoners in the competition’s final fixture last season.

The Gunners started off strong with Campbell and Sanchez looking like they have been playing together for a while. Unfortunately, Campbell’s lack of games proved crucial when faced with a one-on-one with Hull’s goalkeeper. The Costa Rican failed to open the score within the first five minutes when he really should have scored but at least he got some important game time.

Sanchez’s charges towards goal had the same result. The Chilean got blocked by Maguire and missed another great chance to get the opener before the half hour mark.

Arsenal’s captain was the one who broke the ice with an easy header. Mertesacker who was criticized during his last games, used his height to find the net and give the Gunners a well-deserved lead. Minutes after Ospina kept the goal intact despite Maguire’s attempt on goal. It was one of the few encounters the keeper had with the ball throughout the game.

Hull looked tired particularly after half time and even though Arsenal allowed their adversaries to be in control for a while they still kept them far from Ospina. The game ended with a great goal by Sanchez who proved once again he is worth every penny. In 3 quick moves, the Chilean managed to move the ball from out of his feet, turn past a defender and find the net and close the game out for a 2-0 Arsenal win.
