Arsenal have made an enquiry about a loan deal for Barcelona winger Malcom, according to reports in the English media.

The Gunners are said to have asked about the Brazilian’s availability during their negotiations over Denis Suarez.

Unai Emery is believed to be very keen on signing a winger before the transfer window closes, but a loan offer for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic has been rejected.

The Nerazzurri are keen to sell the Croatian outright for €40m (£35m), leading to Arsenal seeking alternative solutions.

Barca could be open to a loan deal for Malcom. The 21-year-old has not convinced manager Ernesto Valverde since his €41m arrival from Bordeaux in the summer.

With the winger having four and a half years remaining on his contract, a loan offer would not be out of the question.

The Catalan club are apparently holding out for £50m if they do sell up but the Gunners would only be keen on securing him on a temporary basis initially.
