Arsenal Losing Chase For PSG Starlet

Arsenal are losing the race to sign Paris Saint Germain starlet Adrien Rabiot, after the defensive midfielder has been made an important target for the January transfer window by Italian giants AS Roma, according to Metro.

The Gunners had been looking for a boost to their squad over the final days of the transfer market, but only managed to make one signing on deadline day in Danny Welbeck from Manchester United. The England international finalised his move from Old Trafford in the dying seconds of the deadline day extravaganza, and Arsenal had to part with £16 million for Welbeck’s services. The United academy starlet will join the likes of Alexis Sanchez in the heart of the Arsenal attack, as Arsene Wenger looks to prepare his side for their up coming fixture against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium. This will be a great test of character for the Arsenal players, as they will be without star striker Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott for this game which will be the norm for at least another few weeks when it comes to Walcott and several months for Giroud.

Rabiot played his youth career with several clubs as he was courted by various top sides around Europe. The 19-year old has been touted as a potential star, but with lack of game time at PSG, Rabiot is looking to move. Chelsea had also been in the running for the player, and looked to seal a deal before Rabiot suffered an injury that resulted in the move collapsing.
