Well we know it is possible we could lose some of our bigger players to either injury or the transfer window but losing them to another sport did not seem likely. Well the worst possible thing has happened as we have lost transfer-record signing Mesut Ozil, as well as fellow German international Lukas Podolski and Spanish international Santi Cazorla all to two time Heineken Cup winning team, Ireland’s Munster. These 3 will be a massive loss to Arsenal and a huge gain for Munster although we do think they may struggle with some of the physicality involved in the game of Rugby Union but all three when questioned said, “We are well hard and will eat any other rugby players for dinner”. This does seem like a somewhat bold claim considering their non-existent pedigree in the game of Rugby Union. Also representing their countries at Rugby Union seems unlikely in the short-term as the 3 Gooners are only just learning the rules of the game!
In all seriousness no need to panic Gooners – this photo was taken as a tribute to ex-Munster and Ireland hooker, Jerry Flannery, (now retired due to injury sadly). Flannery is a key member with the Arsenal strength and conditioning team.
