Arsenal Looking To Land Big Summer Transfer By Starting Early Negotiations

Arsenal will start negotiations for Reid whose contract will expire during the summer. The New Zealand international has yet to extend his stay with West Ham for which he has managed a great couple of seasons.  The Gunners are looking into what may happen with the 26 year old who could easily replace Mertesacker in the middle of the defense. Sam Allardyce confirmed the fact that his player will leave but failed to mention a destination. According to Sky Sports, that destination is North London, where accommodation has already been made for the center back. Even though Manchester are also looking to sign Reid, Arsenal look more determined to make the move.

The situation between Reid and his club is not the best at the moment. The team is well aware of his intention to leave and will not be able to interfere with the player’s choice. Despite repeatedly denying the fact that the 26 year old will leave, things seem to have changed dramatically. Even though he was first valued at about £20m by Allardyce, his price tag will be a lot lower than that now given his situation. It would be great for Arsenal to be able to sign the central defender before the end of January. He would be of much help if you consider how poorly the Gunners’ defense has performed at times mostly because of the lack of depth in the centre of it.
