Arsenal Looking To Bundesliga For Strikers

It looks like Wenger will have to settle for a more realistic target during this winter transfer period. Arsenal’s hunt for a world class striker has been a real disappointment considering none of the speculated names have yet ended up at the Emirates Stadium.

According to Metro, the Gunners could turn their attention to more experienced players who despite not fitting the age profile, might help the club keep up with teams like City or Chelsea who have the strongest squads in the Premier League.

Even if some say there is no-one out there that could be better than Bendtner, some rumors have it the Bundesliga is the place where Arsenal will direct their attention. Two highly efficient strikers have shown several qualities which Wenger’s admires.

The first name to consider is Stefan Kießling. The 30 year old German international has an excellent scoring record and has been playing for the same team for 8 years now. A change in scenery could be welcome for the striker who has scored 107 goals since moving to Leverkusen in 2006. He is still under contract until 2017 but it is highly probable the German side will agree to a transfer considering how much Kießling has already done for the club.

The second name to consider is Adrian Ramos. Currently playing for Hertha BSC, this 28 year old striker is in excellent form this season managing 11 goals and 3 assists in 18 games. The Colombian, although older than Giroud, could be an excellent competitor for the Frenchman who could surely need both some help and extra motivation. Ramos may not be as easy of a target as Kießling, considering the fact that he is currently seen as the perfect replacement for Lewandowski who is supposedly leaving for Munich this summer.
