Arsenal Looking To Bring In 22 Year Old Replacement For Sagna

Arsenal are looking to find a viable option to replace Sagna who seems keen on leaving Emirates after 7 years spent under Wenger’s supervision. The French international who surpassed the 200th Premier League game milestone this season might be looking to make a career change after failing to win any trophy since coming to London. Glory is not the only thing Sagna has been missing as most rumors hinted towards the fact that the 31 year old is not happy with the way he is being treated by the club.

The Gunners seem determined to lead tough negotiations with Sagna which might lead to the right-back’s departure. In order to fill in the spot, Wenger has directed his attention towards Serie A. Genoa’s Sime Vrsaljko made Arsenal’s wish-list after a great first season playing for the Italian squad. The Croatian international who is under contract until 2017 seems a great option to replace Sagna.

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal will have to compete with Inter, Milan and Fiorentina in order to secure the young defender’s signature. Fortunately, the Emirates team is always a tempting destination for promising players who want to be given the chance to prove themselves. Sime Vrsaljko should receive enough on-pitch time considering the fact that Jenkinson is the only right-back who would remain available if Sagna leaves. This could tilt the situation in the Gunners’ favor who will be looking to strengthen an already thin squad.
