Arsenal Looking To Avoid Losing Wilshere To City

Arsenal may have some serious trouble holding on to Jack Wilshere who suddenly has become one of the most desired players on the market. According to Metro, the 23 year old is not only targeted by Barcelona but by Manchester City as well. The Citizens are thinking of pairing Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson with The Gunner. Even though City has a strong midfield section, they are still missing star quality players to help Toure hold down the fort. Wilshere looks tempting despite his fragile physique which kept him on the bench for months. Wenger will have to move fast and come up with a plan to keep the midfielder at the Emirates.

Avoiding situations like these should not be that difficult now that the French boss already knows what can happen if negotiations are not conducted properly. Clichy, Nasri, Adebayor and Toure all left for Manchester after they were not able to reach an agreement with the North Londoners. Hopefully Wilshere will not follow in the footsteps of Van Persie, Fabregas, Vermaelen or even Henry who were left to leave regardless of their contribution to the team’s performances.

Wilshere is now under contract with Arsenal until 2018 but is expected to get an increase in salary and also a few more years added to his deal. Rumors have it that he will be given around £150,000 a week which is just as much as Sanchez makes right now. Hopefully the England international will accept and stay at the Emirates and will put devotion before money.
