Arsenal Looking To Annul Kallstrom Deal?

The winter transfer period was a total disaster for Arsenal who failed to secure any new players on a long term contract. Kallstrom was the only one who made it to the Emirates Stadium this January. The Swede is supposed to perform under Wenger’s guidance for the next six months after which he was to return to Moscow.

Unfortunately for both the club and Kallstrom, it seems chances of him performing for the Gunners have dropped considerably after picking up a back injury possibly while playing football on a beach. The 31 year old who made Arsenal aware of his prior health issues regarding his back could be out for as much as half of his loan deal.

According to Metro, Arsenal officials are now looking for ways to break the contract and return Kallstrom to Russia. It is unfortunate things happened this way. Despite being a last minute solution. The Swede could have helped the Gunners who are already missing Ramsey, Wilshere and Walcott who are out with injury.

With the transfer window closed, it looks like Arsenal are left hanging. Injuries have probably been one of the biggest reasons the Gunners haven’t won anything in such a long time. Building a more consistent squad should be a priority for Wenger who surprisingly stated his side could have done well without signing anyone this winter.

Wenger also said he needed a player to get right in the game. With February being such a busy month, Arsenal could have used some extra help which is not going to come from Kallstrom who is going to miss the whole period for which he was specifically loaned from Spartak.
