Arsenal Looking For Low-Cost Striker Solution

Arsenal Looking For Low-Cost Striker Solution

Arsenal are currently hanging on to just one striker who despite being in great form, cannot remain the only club’s solution. This year’s Giroud is definitely an improved version of what we saw last season but it is very unlikely that he will be able to handle being Arsenal’s sole striker. Sure, Walcott will return soon and he will be able to raise the competition for a spot in the first eleven once more but still, Wenger needs a fresh striker. A lot of people could argue that Welbeck will return after injury and that he can be a solution. Honestly it`s hard to believe he will manage to catch up after being out of touch since September. He is expected to return mid-January but to be brutally honest, this is a missed season for the Englishman. A knee operation and 4 months of recovery plus the other 3 of injury from the end of last season will make his life extremely complicated. Yes, he is only 24 which means he has the time and resources to become one of Arsenal’s main men but not this season.

Others said that Sanogo will return but that solution went down the drain after the youngster picked up a groin injury that has no expiration date. With that in mind, Ayoze Perez sounds like a valid way to go. He is just 22 and has time to grow, he seems to be doing well in the Premier League and he is versatile enough to cover several positions up front including the left wing. He costs under £7million which makes him approachable and he could be willing to leave as Arsenal promise his first Champions League participation rather than a relegation to the Championship. That argument will be double-sided though as Newcastle struggle and might not allow the Spaniard to leave during tough times. It remains to be seen what happens as according to the Telegraph, Manchester United are also interested in the youngster.
