Arsenal Looking Back To Last Year’s Transfer List

Arsenal could make their first important transfer of the season after Lyon rejected Napoli’s bid for French international, Maxime Gonalons. The Gunners have already tried negotiating with the French side last summer but failed to reach an agreement. Wenger is according to talkSPORT, a very big fan of his compatriot who is currently valued at £14 million. He would make a great addition to the team especially with Arteta, Flamini and Diaby probably getting ready to leave or certainly getting on a bit.

The 25 year old defensive midfielder could be tempted to sign with Arsenal considering two of his national team colleagues are already there. Gonalons who has been playing for Lyon since 2009 could definitely be interested in a move considering Lyon’s poor performances from last season which deprived them from a spot in any European competition.

Signing Gonalons would be a double victory for Arsenal who would also get back at Napoli for snatching Higuain last summer. Apparently the Italians were keen on getting the French midfielder but failed to meet Lyon’s financial expectations.

Hopefully Wenger will move especially with Gonalons’s contract reaching its final year. His versatility will be very welcomed at the Emirates where injuries have often obligated Wenger to use his players out of position.  The 25 year old can not only perform as a defensive midfielder but can also make a great defender if the situation demands it.
