Arsenal Looking At New Italian Goalkeeper

Italy youth international, Simone Scuffet made his debut for Udinese only at the start of this month and has become a regular for the Italian outfit since then. At the tender age of 17, Scuffet has caught the eye of a number of clubs with his maturity.

Arsenal have had issues with the depth and consistency of their goalkeeping situation, although Szczesny has been in inspired form this season, but his error in Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich just illustrates that he is not quite the finished article yet.

The Gunners were linked with the likes of Pepe Reina and Victor Valdes, amongst others last summer but Wenger placed his faith in his current set of goalies. However, it is only inevitable that the Frenchman will look to add a fresh ‘keeper with Fabianski set to leave the club at the end of the season.

According to Metro, Wenger has zeroed in on a move for Scuffet with scouts having been hugely impressed with the strides he has made this season. The report suggests that Arsenal have already approached Udinese with a view to doing a potential deal in the summer.
