Arsenal Look To Sign World Class Replacement For Possible Sanogo Departure

Andre Wenger could be making another shocking move in the transfer market after managing to bring in two of the biggest names in football recently. According to Metro, Mario Mandzukic could be joining the Gunners this winter or at the end of the season. Currently valued at about £25million, the 28 year old Croatian could be tempted to take on a new challenge even though he just moved to Spain in 2014.

Arsenal being linked to strikers was a strange situation a few months back. No one could understand why despite having one of the best attacks in the Premier League, Wenger still had his eyes on players like Cavani or even Benzema. Apparently, the Frenchman knew that he was going to use Welbeck on the wing and also that Sanogo and Podolski would leave. With Giroud being the only option, Mandzukic’s arrival at the Emirates does not sound so implausible after all. The fact that Torres was signed by Atletico is yet another sign that the Croatian who managed to score 14 goals in 22 games could be tempted to chase after the title in England by joining the Gunners.

Even though no public announcement has been made, Arsenal are looking for a striker. Unfortunately it is very unlikely they will pay £25million for a player when they announced that the budget is almost that amount. It is also difficult to believe that Wenger will not bring in any defensive reinforcements to add some strength to the center of the pitch.
