Arsenal Look To Secure Deal For Spain Ace With £17.8m Buyout Clause

Arsenal are looking to tie up a deal for Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals in the January transfer window, according to the Sun.

A move for the Spanish international could be made easier by the fact that the player has a £17.8m buyout clause in his contract.

The Gunners would need to find funds to secure a deal for Fornals, however, with midfielder Mohamed Elneny reportedly being allowed to leave the Emirates.

The Egyptian has barely featured under manager Unai Emery so far this season, having made just four appearances in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

Still, recruiting Fornals could prove to be difficult in January. Reports from Spain suggest the 22-year-old is not willing to leave Villarreal before the end of the season.

The Yellow Submarine have had a difficult start to the campaign and the midfielder is said to be determined to help them recover their position in the league.

Both West Ham and Fulham have also been linked with Fornals in recent weeks, and there is certain to be interest from other clubs as well, for a player who has scored three goals and provided two assists in 17 games this season.
