Arsenal Look To Replace Sagna With England U19 International

Arsenal are looking to bring in one of England’s most promising defenders.  Youngster Calum Chambers impressed Wenger with his maturity and excellent performances over the last season. The full-back has been scouted by the Gunners’ staff for a while now who seem convinced Chambers is more than capable of making the step to a bigger club. With Sagna definitely gone likely to Manchester City, the 19 year old is expected to receive an offer very soon. Even though there is not too much activity on the transfer market before the World Cup, Wenger may want to hurry up and snatch this promising young player who should fit perfectly with Arsenal.

Chambers would have to battle it out with Jenkinson for a spot in Wenger’s starting eleven. Even though Arsenal’s current right-back is more experienced he lacks consistency and like so many others has had his fair share of time missed due to injuries. Despite starting off as a midfielder, U19 England international Chambers seemed better suited to a spot in the defensive line but is certainly a versatile operator. He has a different profile to that of Jenkinson as the Mirror report, Chambers is versatile enough to play anywhere on the right flank which would be of great help for Arsenal who suffered dearly after Walcott got benched due to a knee injury.
