Arsenal Look To Nuremberg For Help

According to Metro, Arsenal have secured the signature of Josip Drmic who is currently performing for Nuremberg. The 21 year old striker who has never played for any of the top European teams could be an excellent replacement for Bendtner who will not be part of Wenger’s squad for the years to come.

Drmic who also made 5 appearances for Switzerland’s national team had a good couple of seasons while playing for Zurich but never stood out. He scored 18 goals for the Swiss side in 62 appearances and managed to increase his scoring rate after transferring to Nuremberg. He is currently a team regular with 16 goals in 31 games in this season.

Drmic is valued at about £16million which is a bit much for someone who has yet to offer any guarantee that he will be capable of holding his own in the Premier League. Arsenal will hopefully direct their attention towards a more experienced if not a more efficient player despite a probable cost difference. Wenger has been looking to bring in the likes of Suarez, Higuain or Benzema who are currently far ahead of Drmic as far as strikers go.

Even so the Croatian would be a great addition to the team given his young age, determination and present form. Arsenal will not be able to make the most out of next season if they continue using Giroud in every match.
