Arsenal Linked With January Offer For Argentina World Cup Defender

Arsenal are interested in signing Ajax fullback Nicolas Tagliafico, according to reports in Italy.

The Argentinian international is said to be on the club’s radar for the January transfer window as they look for cover on the left-hand side of defence.

Nacho Monreal’s contract expires in the summer while Sead Kolasinac has barely featured since his return from a knee injury at the end of the September.

Tagliafico played at the World Cup for Argentina, having started all four of their games at the tournament, and he has remained first choice during the four friendlies since the summer.

At club level, he has continued to be a reliable fullback for Ajax. He has already made 15 appearances in all competitions this season for the Dutch club, scoring two goals against AEK Athens in the first group stage match of the Champions League.

Gunners head coach Unai Emery seems to be keen to strengthen at left-back with Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno also having been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent days.
