Arsenal could make a move for Brentford centre-back Ezri Konsa in the January transfer window, according to the Sun.
The England Under 21 international is a regular first-team player for the Bees following a £2.85m move from Charlton Athletic in the summer.
However, it seems Brentford would demand a sizeable increase on what they paid for Konsa back in July.
The Gunners are said to be preparing a £15m offer for the 21-year-old, with the London’s club’s recruitment team looking to strengthen their squad with a core of young English players.
It could be argued that it is a change of policy with it being reported only at the end of last month that Arsenal would be targeting overseas signings due to the premium in signing homegrown talent.
The last British player that the club signed was Rob Holding when he was snapped up for £2.5m from Bolton Wanderers two years ago.
