Sagna is Arsene Wenger’s first-choice right-back at the club but he has failed to agree a new deal to extend his current contract beyond the end of the season. With the English season officially over, and no agreement in place, Sagna looks set to move on.

The Frenchman wanted better terms and it seems he could receive that at Manchester City, who are reportedly front-runners for his signature. Arsenal have conceded that Sagna will quit the club in the summer and have targeted Ligue 1’s Aurier as his replacement, according to a report by the Express.

The 21-year-old is a member of the Ivory Coast’s World Cup squad and has excelled with Toulouse this season. He has scored a remarkable six goals and has further provided six assists in all competitions this season.

His ability to play anywhere in the back-line has prompted Wenger to make a move for him. He has been named in Ligue 1’s team of the year and could prove to be a fruitful addition to Arsenal’s defence.
