Arsenal Legend Recommends Defender To Wenger

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has urged manager Arsene Wenger to compete with other clubs to bid for Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, after arch rivals Manchester United have also lodged an interest in the player, according to the Express.

Hummels began his career at Bayern Munich as a youth player in 1995, and his association with the Bundesliga giants continued into the senior team. However, limited opportunities at the Allianz Arena meant the 26-year old had to make a move to Dortmund, where he did spend one season on loan. Since joining Dortmund in 2009, the German international has made 181 league appearances, scoring 16 goals.
