Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino is a doubt for the Gunners’ Champions League semi-final against PSG on Tuesday night.
He was unable to play against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night when the Gunners drew 2-2, meaning that Leandro Trossard had to start up front.
There is now a chance that the Spaniard could miss the game against PSG, which would be a huge blow for Mikel Arteta. It is not understood what his injury is, but it’s assumed to be just a small knock.
He is currently being assessed by Arsenal medical staff and his status is currently 50%. We expect him to play against PSG, but maybe not for the full 90 minutes.
Expected return date – Tuesday 29 April vs PSG
Ben White
Defender White could also miss the Champions League first leg. Much like Merino, he wasn’t fit enough to make an appearance against Crystal Palace, and so is in doubt for Tuesday.
White’s issue is connected to the long-term knee injury that he has been dealing with this season, but it isn’t expected to be a major set back.
