Arsenal are resigned to selling captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer, according to Sport. The Catalan newspaper claims the Gunners “know they will lose” the 30-year-old, with talks with Barcelona having started all the way back in January.
The Gabonese international’s agents were reportedly prepared to force through a move in the last transfer window after holding discussions with Barca but they stopped short of doing so as the La Liga club did not have the cash to finance a transfer.
However, that will change at the end of the season, and with Aubameyang closing in on the final twelve months of his contract, Sport claim that Arsenal are now prepared to sell up so he doesn’t leave for nothing.
The London club have, however, set a minimum asking price of €55m (£50m) for the striker, and it is believed that negotiations will take place in order for a deal to go ahead.
