Arsenal Join United In Race To Secure Free Transfer Of French Teenage Sensation

Arsenal are one of five teams vying to sign Marseille’s teenage prodigy Isaac Lihadji, according to Goal.com. The 17-year-old’s contract at the Ligue One side expires in the summer and he will be available on a free transfer.

Manchester United, Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and Lille are also interested in the winger, who starred for France at the Under 17 World Cup late last year.

Lihadji scored three goals and provided two assists at the tournament as he helped his side to a third-place finish back in November.

However, despite his excellent performances at youth level, he has been restricted to just two first-team appearances this season with Marseille head coach Andre Villas-Boas refusing to play the teenager before he signs a new contract.

With reports that negotiations ended in January, it appears that Lihadji will be leaving the Stade Velodrome at the end of the season and Arsenal are reportedly very keen to snap up the player, who is seen as one of Europe’s top young talents.
