Arsenal are one of the teams interested in Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to Sky Germany. The TV channel reports that the Swiss international is being pursued by a number of English clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool.
The 22-year-old is said to be on the Gunners’ radar but they will also face competition from Bundesliga teams. Borussia Dortmund reportedly had a €30m offer rejected for the midfielder in the summer, while Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on the player.
Zakaria is believed to be keen to move on at the end of the season after three years at Gladbach but his team will be holding out for a sizeable fee. The German club are said to be demanding at least €50m (£43m) for the Swiss star.
Whether he is worth that much, it is up for debate. The holding midfielder has scored two goals and provided no assists in nine appearances this season.
